Craftsman house plans have prominent exterior features that include low-pitched roofs with wide eaves, exposed rafters and decorative brackets; front porches with thick, tapered columns and stone supports; and numerous windows, some with leaded or stained glass. Inside, dramatic beamed ceilings preside over open floor plans with minimal hall space. These are traditional designs with their roots in the Arts and Crafts movement of late-19th-century England and early-20th-century America. Our craftsman designs are closely related to the bungalow and Prairie styles, so check out our bungalow house plans for more inspiration.
